There are 16km of blue pistes, 21.5km of red pistes and 4km of black runs; in addition, there are various off-piste runs and heli-skiing options with long descents into the valley. This means for all levels of skiers there is a great variety of slopes available. Since the Skyway Monte Bianco cable car was opened in 2015, Courmayeur is linked with Pointe Helbronner on the south side of the Mont Blanc. This cable car construction took three years and is nowadays known as the most expensive ski lift construction. Taking the gondola up the nearly 3500 meters, presents besides skiing an incredible tourist attraction with closer views of the Mont Blanc, Aiguille d’Entrèves and the Vallée Blanche, but also views further away towards the Matterhorn, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso. On top of this, the Courmayeur lift pass also covers the ski areas Chamonix and Argentière. This is another reason why the value of ski real estate in Courmayeur is increasing year by year.
