Fügen is a traditional village located in the Tyrol Province. It is considered to be the main village of the anterior Zillertal valley, where Mayrhofen and Zell am Ziller can be found. Fügen is known for its skiing and picturesque hiking trails, and has a good selection of restaurants. The village also has thermal baths to relax in after a long day on the slopes.
What We Love About Fügen
Fügen has over 100km of skiing in the region. The Spieljoch ski area is directly on your doorstep and just 6 minutes away is the village of Kaltenbach giving access to further skiing which is all covered by your ski pass and can be easily reached by the free ski bus. Additionally, the world famous resort of Mayrhofen is less than 30 minutes from Fügen.
Fügen is conveniently located less than 40 minutes from Innsbruck airport, 1 hour 35 minutes from Salzburg airport and only 1 hours 45 minutes from Munich airport. It is also easily accessible by train as the Zillertalbahn train stops at the station of Fügen.

Ski Scene
Fügen is located in the Zillertal ski area which is the largest “ski valley” in the world. The Spieljoch ski area in Fügen comprises of 3km of blue runs, 11km of red runs and 3km of black runs, with an altitude of up to 2,054m, and has a total of 8 ski lifts directly in the centre of town.
Kaltenbach is only 6 minutes away and can be reached by the free ski bus. This region has an altitude of 2,500m, with skiers and snowboarders having a choice from 39 modern and fast lifts, with a total capacity of up to 63,000 persons per hour, ensuring short waiting times. This ski area has 86km of piste, made up of 30km of blue runs, 41km of red runs and 15km of black runs.
Additionally, the world famous resort of Mayrhofen is less than 30 minutes from Fügen. Mayrhofen boasts 142km of skiing including 40km of blue runs, 69km of red runs, and 33km of black runs.
If you purchase a ski pass for a minimum of two days, you automatically receive the Zillertal Superskipass, which offers you the opportunity to explore the whole Ziller valley including Mayrhofen.
Fügen doesn’t just offer fantastic pistes to ski and snowboard, it also has numerous other winter activities for the whole family to enjoy. From snowshoe hiking, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, ice skating and also curling.

Summer Fun
In the summertime, Fügen is a wonderful destination with plenty of activities to enjoy. The Ziller valley is perfect for hiking as there are 1400km of mountain trails with breath-taking views. There is also the option to reach the top of mountain quickly and easily with the Spielbergjoch cable car. Along the route to the top or bottom of the mountain there are many mountain huts you can stop at for some refreshments.
Fügen also has fantastic bike trails in the area with a choice of easy routes to more challenging trails for the more adventurous advanced cyclists.
Fügen is less than a 10 minute’s drive away from the 18-hole championship golf courses “The Uderns Golf Course”. This course has a large practicing area with covered tees and an area for short games, a PGA golf school and a club house. Further to this, there are many other golf course within the region that are easily accessible.
