Millstatt See is best known for its crystal-clear lake, located in the heart of the village. It is perfect for the winter and summer with fantastic pistes as well as great hiking and mountain biking trails.

This Carinthia Province boast’s some of the best golf course in Austria, with two 27-hole courses, five 18-hole courses, two 9-hole courses and various driving ranges. Further to this, the Golf Course Millstatt See is on a plateau high above Lake Millstatt offering breath-taking views of the landscape.

Millstatt is only a 50 minute drive from Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Ljubljana.

Ski Scene

Millstatt has access to five ski resorts within a 50-minute drive. Goldeck is the closest with 25k of skiing, 8km of blue runs, 9km of red runs and 8km of black runs.

This resort also has a 50 hectare free ride area and snow park. The ski resort Bad Kleinkirchheim is located in the heart of Carinthia where you will find an altitude of over 2,000m. There are 103km of perfectly groomed pistes to explore stretching in all directions, along with 24 state of the art lift facilities and wide downhill runs. Further to this, the resort of Katschberg is only a 30-minute drive away.

Summer Fun

Millstatt offers lots to do in the summer months too. The crystal clear lake is Carinthia’s second largest and lies within the Gurktal Alps.

Activities available include sailing, windsurfing, water-skiing, scuba-diving, crazy banana, tubing and parasailing. There are also boat rentals available, pleasure cruises, bathing beaches and every two years, water-skiing championships.

Away from the water there are plenty of hiking and cycling trails with long walks over the mountains. The mountain also provides great views into Italy and Slovenia!
