As ski property rarely become available in Schröcken or other resorts on the Arlberg, prices are high. Despite this, Schröcken is great value compared to other villages in the Arlberg ski region, as prices are roughly half the cost of Lech.

What We Love About Schröcken am Arlberg

Schröcken has breathtaking natural views of the mountains and valley and is the perfect place to find relaxation and quietness. Together with the neighbouring village of Warth, Schröcken holds the record for the snowiest area in the Austrian Alps, receiving an impressive 11 metres of snow a year!

Since the lift connection has joined Schröcken and Warth with Lech, Schröcken has become increasingly popular and property prices as well as their value have significantly increased.

Ski Scene

Sat at an impressive 1,500m – 2,000m Schröcken has an average snow fall of 11m each winter. Skiing in the region includes 130km of blue runs, 122km of red runs and 50km of black runs at an altitude of over 2,800m, making Schröcken suitable for all abilities. The ski season begins in mid-December and lasts until late April. The region is serviced by over 90 lifts including many modern chair lifts with heated seats. For those with no time to wait, heli-skiing is also available in this top class ski region.

Summer Fun

During summertime Schröcken is ideal for hikes and mountain tours. As the lifts are open throughout the summer, your journeys up to the peaks could not be easier. The entire region offers about 350km of well maintained hiking paths. With the addition of the hiking bus, you can reach even further towards Lech, Zürs and beyond. During long hiking tours refreshments in the mountain lakes ‘Kalbelesee’ or ‘Körbersee’ can be enjoyed with fabulous views.

This natural valley is also home to one of the few remaining ‘wild water rivers‘ in Austria. For thousands of years, the crystal waters of the river Lech have carved through the valley, creating this unique and scenic environment which is home to several endangered species.

A 9-hole golf course has opened in Lech and Zürs am Arlberg, which is only a 20 mins drive from Schröcken. The 19 hectar course is suited to both beginners and professionals and is the perfect summer sporting challenge with fairways designed so that players have to play over the Lech river several times.
