Obergurgl has a lively social scene in the charming Alpine huts that populate its pistes. Sölden sits in a pretty wooded valley surrounded by some of Austria’s highest mountains. The town offers an exciting mix of modern and old buildings and a huge choice of shops, bars, restaurants and clubs.

Ski Scene

Sölden is Austria’s only ski area with three mountains above 3,000m which are all accessible by lifts or gondolas. Nestled between Gaislachkogl (3,058m),Tiefenbachkogl (3,250m), and Schwarze Schneide (3,340m) lies 143km of perfectly groomed slopes, state-of-the-art ski lifts and gondolas. Skiing here is great for all abilities. There are 69km of blue runs, 47km of red runs and 27km of black runs as well as numerous off-piste opportunities and 2km of freeride routes. All of our ski property for sale in Sölden benefits from an impressively lengthy ski season. On average, it begins in October and lasts until May. There are 15km of cross-country skiing, nightly floodlit tobogganing, ice skating, curling, ice climbing, horse drawn sleighs rides, paragliding and winter hiking to keep you busy!

Reaching an altitude of over 3,250m, Sölden boasts glacier skiing and some serious vertical and long runs. It is even possible to ski the 12km from the top of the glacier down to the town without using a lifts. Sölden’s signature ski journey is called the Big-3 Rally. It is a circuit entailing 50km of skiing and 10,000m of vertical which encompasses three spectacular viewing platforms built over the valleys. Sölden is also just 15 minutes drive from the resort of Obergurgl with its high altitude skiing which is superbly family friendly and excellent for beginners. Obergurgl offers 112km of pistes which includes 60km of blue runs, 33km of red runs and 18km of black runs.

Summer Fun

In the summer Sölden offers a vast array of activities amongst the beautiful surroundings. The mountains are an internationally popular training base for climbers. Sölden also offers 300km of marked hiking and cycling trails with perfect routes to suit all abilities. Other sports include white water rafting and paragliding.

The summer glacier skiing and snowboarding on the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach Glaciers is also not to be missed! The Area 47 adventure park is also in Sölden and is considered the ‘ultimate outdoor playground’. Visitors can choose from a wide range of activities including river rafting, slide water park and bike and buggy off-roading.

Just 15 minutes away from Sölden is the scenic village of Längenfeld, a picture-book landscape of outstanding natural beauty at 1,200m. Here you will find the famous Aqua Dome, the Tyrol’s biggest wellness and spa area in the middle of the mountains. With its huge indoor and outdoor programme Aqua Dome offers a spa day with a wide selection of health and beauty treatments.
