A visit to the world’s largest accessible summit cross, the Jakobskreuz, is just as important as a boat trip on the lake. The Buchensteinwand ski area and the Steinplatte are only a few minutes’ drive away and offer skiers perfect conditions for a varied ski holiday.

St. Ulrich am Pillersee is only 1 hour from Salzburg airport and 1 hour 30 minutes from Innsbruck airport.

St. Ulrich offers a private and authentic atmosphere with 21km of well-groomed pistes in the ski resort Buchensteinwand, the perfect resort for families with young children. There are 8km of blue pistes, 10km of red pistes and 3km of black pistes available, which means this resort is ideal for all levels of skiers. Only a 10-minute ride away you can find further 270km of skiing in the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn.

St. Ulrich is only a 30-minutes ride away from the Kitzbühel Alps and could thus also enjoy award-winning 433km of sublime pistes across The Skiwelt and Kitzski regions. Here you can also find plenty of cross-country skiing with 500km of surrounding trails. The Kitzbühel Alps have modern ski lifts and 100% snow cannon coverage to ensure great skiing. Plus, with plentiful rustic mountain huts and bars, you have a fabulous choice of sunny terraces to enjoy the great views and soak up the traditional Austrian hospitality.

Even in winter there is plenty of entertainment in St. Ulrich am Pillersee. In addition to the Buchensteinwand ski area and the Skicircus, there is a huge cross-country network that stretches across the valley. Over 100km of trails – from classic to skating – cross the region and offer perfectly groomed trails in the Pillersee Valley every day.

Summer Fun

Thanks to its dual-season altitude, the Pillersee valley makes a fantastic summer as well as winter destination. There are practically endless hiking and cycling trails across the region, and there are plenty of activities on offer. Here, you can enjoy tennis, horse riding, or boating on the beautiful Pillersee lake – to name a few!
