Wald im Pinzgau is a traditional village located in the Salzburg Province dating back to 1160. The village is in the Hohe Tauern National Park which is well known for its skiing and picturesque hiking trails. Wald has a selection of restaurants as well as an indoor swimming pool and spa facilities for families to enjoy.
Wald has a lovely selection of shops and restaurants and over 150km of skiing. Only two minutes down the road are the Kitzbuhel Alps offering an additional 433km of skiing. Wald caters to all skiing abilities with the close by resorts which can all be reached by a free bus that runs every 30 minutes.
Wald im Pinzgau is conveniently located just 1 hour 40 minutes from Salzburg and Innsbruck airports and 2 hours 20 minutes from Munich airport.

Ski Scene
Wald is in the centre of a number of large ski regions. With the ski lifts from Neukirchen and Bramberg you can access directly the incredible Wildkogel Arena, comprising of 35km of blue runs, 30km of red runs, and 10km of black runs. The Wildkogel ski resort has great snow and reaches altitudes of up to 2,100m. All of our ski property for sale in Wald benefits from the wide open slopes of Neukirchen, as the Neukirchen ski lift is only 3 minutes’ drive away. Here the un-crowded slopes and snow-capped trees make for wonderfully scenic skiing. There are also lots of traditional mountain huts offering full table service and great food.
Under 15 minutes’ away is the new Panoramabahn gondola ski lift which directly connects to the Kitzbühel Alps, offering a further 433km of groomed pistes. The Kitzbühel Alps have over 50 modern ski lifts and 100% snow cannon coverage to ensure great skiing. The Kitzbühel Alps are perfect for cross country skiing as it offers over 500km of trails. Wald is also only a 15 minute drive from Gerlospass, which gives access to the expansive Zillertal Arena with 150km of slopes, 50km blue, 88km red and 12km black.

Summer Fun
In summertime, Wald is a wonderful destination with plenty of activities. The region is perfect for cycling as there are 800km of mountain bike trails with breathtaking views of Grossglockner – Austria’s tallest mountain. The gondola lifts are open throughout the summer months and can whisk you and your bike up to the top so you can freewheel down stopping for refreshments at the mountain huts.
The Salzach river passes through Wald and is a great place to try out exciting watersports such as rafting and kayaking, and with the beautiful lake of Zell am See under an hour’s drive away – there’s plenty to keep you cool in the warm summer months.
Just 25 minutes away is the par-70 Mittersill-Stuhlfelden Golf Club, which is surrounded by beautiful mountains. This 18-hole course has rustic hay lofts, doglegs, ponds, a small stream and a par-3 island green. The region is even known as the ‘golf centre of Austria’ with a choice of five local golf courses, plus a further 19 courses within an hour’s drive.
